Nov 21, 2021 · I either bake them myself or go without. I can't take 90% of store baked cookies. I've skipped doing them for a few years now. I should do them again. I believe there is an old thread on favorite cookies. Chocolate chips, thumb prints, molasses sugar cookies, peanut butter, and sometimes oatmeal are the regulars.

Working, caring for and schooling children, food shopping, cooking, cleaning the house, washing clothes, and other responsibilities may keep some folks from the Joy of baking cookies not only at Christmas but at any other time of the year. As others have mentioned Giancarlo's in Ledgwood on Rt. 10 has an excellent bakery with great cookies.

I get so disgusted, each year, as they water down our Christmas Season i.e. in the schools, the use of Happy Holiday, Holiday Tree etc. Walk around Wal-Mart, Target and I am sure others, do you hear any Christmas music. NO. But they want us to spend our money in that store to purchase gifts, Christmas decorations etc.

When I was little we thought it was a made up holiday by our mom. That's when we would get the presents she forgot to give at Christmas because she hid them so well;) And any time after that date is when we'll take the decorations down. Since we were late getting them up, my husband says we're keeping them up for a few more weeks. Fine by me...
