Yes, at the switch there are the black, white, and ground wires connected and at the light fixture there are also black, white, and ground connected. So, I'm confused as to how the switch controls the light. Are the wires from the switch goes up directly the light fixture to control it?

Right now my friend has the gfci on bottom of post the hot wires is on (lineload) On the gfci (the load on the old gfci has no wires on them) one set wires from line load on gfci go to the photocell which (is mount right above gfci ) then to flood light .
