Feb 3, 2022 · @user_95f681I've checked on https://comca.st/3gpGdaZ and the CM8200a is not coming up in the search. After going through a filtered list that covers different speeds with DOCSIS 3.1 the only device that comes up is the Arris SB8200 up to 900 Mbps. Let me know if more info is needed.

Apr 16, 2020 · ARRIS agent told Xfinity that the SB8200 requires a minimum upstream signal level of 45-51 dbmv. I am only getting 32.0/33 dBmV. Hence the reason the light is not blue. ARRIS agent recommended that Xfinity remove the modem from my account and setup a new profile from scratch to fix this.

It was apparently defective as I was only getting a download speed of around 40 Mbps from it for the past several weeks when I pay for 500 Mbps speed. An Xfinity technician came out and checked the speed of the cable going into the modem, which was fine.

Mar 23, 2024 · From Arris' Support: The Cable Operators (MSOs) have complete control of what cable modem/gateway hardware they will allow installed and the firmware it uses, this is because they own the coaxial cable that is connected to the ARRIS (G36), because of that the Firmware updates are pushed by them, and any update needed as well.

It seems like the sensor field is so narrow that if you don't hold your remote within the right area, which is the width of a silver dollar, there is no reaction from the box at all.
