Trump in an interview with the Journal on Tuesday denied that he wrote the letter or drew the picture and threatened to sue the newspaper if it published the story.

Last week, the paper published an article describing a letter Trump sent to disgraced, self-styled financier Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003.

“This is simple retribution by a president against a news organization for doing reporting that he doesn’t like,” the Times said Tuesday.
