Tesla is set to officially open its first showroom in India on July 16 at Jio World Drive, Mumbai, with deliveries of its Model Y electric vehicle projected to commence in late August. This expansion aims to tap into the growing market for premium electric vehicles amidst slowing global sales.

Tesla has signalled its entry into the Indian market with a teaser post on X, featuring the words “India” and “July 2025” against the backdrop of high-rise buildings. This is the company’s first announcement for India and comes ahead of the opening of its first showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on July 15.
