“Not every team is like that.” Manheim Central blitzed District 10 champion Meadville 3-1 — by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-16 and 27-25 — to hoist its first PIAA title in program history.

Meadville's victory guaranteed a PIAA 2A final rematch. Bulldogs' fans learned during the third set that Manheim Central won its June 10 semifinal with a 25-16, 25-12, 25-18 sweep of York Suburban.

Her lengthy tenure includes five PIAA championship teams, the most recent being the 2022 Tigers in Class 1A. Nick Bancroft assisted his mother on Maplewood's bench before he took over at Meadville.

The team rolled through the match with a 25-17, 25-12 and 25-5 wins in the three-set victory. The team will now face District 10 champion Meadville at a site and time to be determined on June 7.

Voting to decide the top District 10 high school boys coach from the 2024-25 season remains open until Thursday at 5 p.m.

The PIAA release stated, “Due to the blatant violations of the PIAA bylaws, the Meadville vs. Uniontown basketball game will be recorded as a forfeiture for each team.” ...

Meadville has also become a mainstay at Penn State in the PIAA 2A championship match. The Bulldogs have played in the biggest tournaments and have made deep playoff runs over the past six years.
