Auston Matthews and John Tavares each had a goal and an assist to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to their fifth straight win, 3-2 over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are quietly working on securing the futures of two of their cornerstone players, Mitch Marner and John Tavares, according to the latest reports.

Tavares, 34, remains a key contributor for the Leafs, with 40 points in 40 games this season. His leadership and role as a former captain have been especially vital as (newly-minted captain) Auston Matthews has missed stretches of the campaign.

Goalie: Belfour's stint with the Maple Leafs was impactful even though it lasted just three seasons (2002-03 to 2005-06). He had 17 shutouts, most of any Toronto goalie in the quarter century. He's also second in wins since 2000 with 93, trailing only Frederik Andersen (149), who played 98 more games.

For a second straight game, the Flyers outshot the Maple Leafs. And for a second straight game, the Flyers fell to Toronto, this time a 3-2 regulation decision Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers have announced that Ivan Fedotov will once again be the club's starting goalie against the Maple Leafs tonight. Fedotov, 28, played in the Flyers' last contest against the Maple Leafs, saving 22 out of 25 shots he faced.
