JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a voter-approved ballot measure gradually raising the state's minimum wage to $15 an hour and requiring employers to provide paid sick leave to workers.

The Missouri Supreme Court ruled that Proposition A is valid, and the paid sick leave portion will go into effect on May 1. Proposition A, passed by voters in November, promised one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.
