President Donald Trump is defending Attorney General Pam Bondi as she faces mounting criticism from far-right influencers and conservative internet personalities over the Justice Department’s abrupt refusal to release additional documents from the Jeffrey Epstein sex-trafficking investigation.

The US attorney general is under fire after the justice department refused to release further documents relating to the disgraced financier.

The President, visibly frustrated, dismissed the inquiry as irrelevant and a distraction, calling Epstein “ancient news” and implying that continued media focus on the disgraced financier was politically motivated. Trump has previously acknowledged knowing Epstein socially but denies any deeper association or involvement in Epstein's crimes.
