Boston College Baseball lost to the Florida State Seminoles yesterday via a final score of 2-8 in the team's first showdown of the season in Tallahassee. The Eagles only managed to scratch one run across in the fourth and ninth innings to seal the deal on a loss to begin the three-game series.

The No. 4 Seminoles (15-1) are coming off a 7-2 defeat to rival No. 7 Florida on Tuesday. The Eagles (7-6) enter flying high, having beaten Merrimack College of Massachusetts 10-5 to follow an upset series win over No. 20 Virginia last weekend.

No. 4 Florida State hosts No. 7 Florida at Dick Howser Stadium on Tuesady, in one of the biggest games of the young college baseball season. It's a box office top-10 matchup between two heated rivals.

After playing its home opener on Tuesday, the Boston College Eagles baseball team hits the road again for a three-game series at No. 5 Florida State this weekend. On Thursday, the program announced the rotation for the weekend set.
