A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey on Sunday, causing dozens of reports of damage and at least one collapsed building as rescue operations begin.

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake was reportedly felt in Istanbul when it struck at around 7.53pm local time, with the epicentre in Turkey's Balikesir province

Rescue efforts were continuing after the 6.1-magnitude temblor struck in a region that is crisscrossed by fault lines.
