CHICAGO -- Rookie starter Troy Melton led a quartet of Detroit Tigers pitchers to a two-hit shutout Wednesday afternoon in a 1-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field.

The Chicago White Sox had six singles during a five-run fifth inning on the way to a 9-6 victory against the Detroit Tigers at Rate Field.

With one out in the seventh, Andy Ibanez came in to pinch-hit for Colt Keith and hit a single. But back to the same routine, two outs followed to leave him stranded as the struggle to hit lefties continues. The Sox went down in order in the home half.
