First Steps and Superman stack up at the box office and with critics? With both films launching in July 2025, fans and analysts have been comparing every number and rating to see which superhero epic came out on top.

Zack Snyder's divisive film featured a "rotten" 57% score from the critics but 75% from the audience. James Gunn's new entry has better numbers, with critics giving the film an 83% approval score, while audiences gave it an even higher rating of 91%. Superman also features the Certified Fresh and Verified Hot badges.
