President Donald Trump has sent an unhinged “good luck” message to Canadians as they prepare to go to the polls and pick their next prime minister. Posting on Truth Social, Trump sent his best wishes to “the Great people of Canada” ahead of Election Day on Monday,

Whatever the case, one thing was clear: Mr. Trump is not giving up on his obsession with Canada, and the new government that emerges from Monday’s vote will need to deal with a leader intent on both hurting Canada’s economy with tariffs, and coveting its vast resources.

Canadians will vote for a candidate from one of the political parties in their federal “riding,” or district. Whichever candidate gets the most votes in a riding will become a Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons, and the party with the most MPs wins the election.
