Starbase, the area in Cameron County, Texas, where billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX company is operated, is set to officially become a city.

The South Texas home of Elon Musk's SpaceX rocket company is on its way to becoming an official city with a galactic name: Starbase.A vote Saturday to formally organize Starbase as a city was approved by a small group of voters who live there and are mostly Musk's employees at SpaceX.

Elon Musk now holds greater power over the area where SpaceX launches its rockets, expanding the company’s ability to control local planning and taxation.
