Assuming the team selects him – and there isn’t much doubt about that – and he stays healthy, Juuse Saros will play for Finland at the IIHF World Championship for the first time since 2016.

But perhaps the 30-year-old Saros is offering at least some signs of optimism with his play at the annual IIHF World Championship, which this year is being played in Sweden and Denmark.

Saros was an NHL All-Star in both 2022 and 2023, and he recently backstopped Finland at the 2025 IIHF World Championship with a 1.67 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage.

If he's up to it, Saros would likely be Finland's top option in goal for the 2025 IIHF World Championship after representing his country in the 4 Nations Face-Off.
