AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Republicans were unable again Monday to approve new congressional districts to meet President Donald Trump’s demands as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democrats urged Republicans to stand down and avoid a partisan brawl spanning multiple statehouses.
This, of course, came in response to Texas Republicans, acting on behalf of Donald Trump, attempting to redraw their maps to give additional seats to the GOP in the House of Representatives. All the while, Newsom has roundly mocked Trump and, on social media, mimicked the president’s all-caps style of posting.
Despite Democratic lawmakers fleeing and holding up vital relief efforts, Texas Governor Abbott’s flood relief was faster than California Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to the L.A. wildfires.
