A Wiltshire vet is urging pet owners to be aware of the signs of tetanus after a dog needed life-saving treatment for deadly disease.

The dog bite pierced the skin, leading to the woman going to hospital for antibiotics and tetanus injections, police said.
"As I passed, the dog shot out [of the car] and grabbed onto my leg," she said. Her wound was bandaged up and she was given a tetanus shot and a course of penicillin to resist against any infections.
