A missing mother and her child were found dead in their vehicle in an Avery County creek on Tuesday morning.The woman and child were reported missing on Monday, Feb. 17 and a search for them began, the Avery County Sheriff’s Office said.

A woman and child listed as missing have been found dead in a vehicle that flipped off the road into a mountain creek, according to investigators in North Carolina. Their identities were being withheld until deputies can notify their family, the Avery County Sheriff’s Office said.
