KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Legendary Lady Vol Tamika Catchings was surprised on-air with an invitation to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame class of 2025.
Tamika Catchings, who helped lead the Tennessee Lady Vols to the 1997-98 national championship, is in the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame 2025 class.
The donation came just months after Dick Vitale announced he was cancer free, returning to Knoxville to announce Tennessee's top 10 matchup against Alabama.
It's the first time the Lady Vols have beaten UConn since 2007 when hall of fame coach Pat Summitt led the program. Naturally, Caldwell was asked after the game what she thought Summitt would say ...
Summitt and her son, Tyler, established the Pat Summitt Foundation in November 2011 with a mission to fight Alzheimer's disease.
Coaches Kenny Brooks and Kim Caldwell have collided before, but this will be their first taste of the Cats-Vols women’s basketball rivalry.
