SAN FRANCISCO — In its early days, the quirky tech startup known as Google adopted a visionary corporate credo: “ Don’t be evil .” That later evolved into the motto: “Do the right thing,” reflecting the idealistic ambitions of the company’s founders that its technology could be a force for good.
Ideo said in a statement it has envisioned 2525 16th St., also known as the Lion Building, as “the center of West Coast creativity” since it moved to the property in 2020. It described Fellow as a “fantastic, like-minded, and design-centered roommate.”
Though layoffs quickly emerged as a sweeping crisis in post-pandemic San Francisco, it was 2024 when the pink slips became a routine fact of life. Last year, the city witnessed more than 5,500 local layoffs,
Fluidfreeride opened its store at 360 11th St. in 2022 as its first West Coast outlet, providing in-person retail service and scooter repairs with access to the East and South Bay. It was San Francisco's first store offering electric scooters (a.k.a. "e-scooters") alone rather than as a supplementary offering.
Even as four wildfires continued to burn in Los Angeles County Wednesday, the blazes were already rewriting the record books.
For all the chatter about the decline of San Francisco, the data repeatedly shows that the area is still the best place for venture-backed startups.
