President Trump says he expects to know quickly if a deal can be made with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to halt the war in Ukraine.

President Donald Trump is planning to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next Friday in Alaska to discuss a possible peace deal that could bring an end to the three-year-old Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was unlikely to be included in talks he described as a "feel out meeting" to better understand Russia's demands for ending its war in Ukraine.
