This was the third time the St. Jude Championship had reached a playoff in the past four years. Both Spaun and Rose had also fell short in a playoff earlier in the season, with Spaun losing at The Players Championship and Rose losing at the Masters. Both lost to Rory McIlroy in those playoff's

Justin Rose made up a three-shot deficit over the last five holes against hard-luck Tommy Fleetwood, and then made two birdies in a playoff against U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.

As Yogi Berra famously said, it ‘aint over ‘til it’s over.  Such was the case at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. It was a marathon, not a sprint.  W
