Novak Djokovic went up against one of the sport’s most powerful young players Friday and fell to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon semifinal round Friday. The 38-year-old Djokovic was hoping to get a chance to compete against superstar Carlos Alcaraz in the championship Sunday, but Sinner dominated in a 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 triumph.

For Jannik Sinner, Sunday's Wimbledon final offers a chance of redemption; for Carlos Alcaraz it is an opportunity to join an elite club of men who have won the title three years in succession.

Novak Djokovic suffered pain, both physical and emotional, in the Wimbledon semifinals on Friday. The emotional pain comes from another lost chance at his 25th career Grand Slam. Djokovic had made six straight Wimbledon finals until this year when he fell to Jannik Sinner in three sets.
