The Camp House Fire is nearly 12,000 acres; Jenkins Creek Fire is 6,800 acres; and Munger Shaw Fire is 1,400 acres. All are zero percent contained.

Three major wildfires raging out of control in the same Minnesota county have burned more than 20,000 acres combined.

Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles lined the streets near Hugo's. Jeff Conklin sat in a wheelchair outside his truck near the bar's parking area, watching the comings and goings. He's been sleeping, he said, in his truck.

According to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the state has already had 970 fires this year. On average the state experiences a little over 1,100 a year, remember it’s only May.

Another warm and dry day is expected in northern Minnesota, but wetter weather is possible on Thursday. More than 140 buildings have been destroyed and 20,000 acres of forest burned by a trio of wildfires that continue to rage in northern Minnesota.

Superior National Forest Brimson Complex Fire Area Closure DULUTH, Minn. – Due to the Brimson Complex fires (Camp House & Jenkins Creek fires) on the Superior National Forest (SNF) is closing a portion of the Laurentian Ranger District.

Walz authorized the guard with an executive order to help the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center with the Camp House wildfire just north of Brimson, Minnesota.
