Speculation ran wild in Baton Rouge this week after LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was reportedly helped off the practice field Wednesday. The noise began when unverified reports on social media suggested Nussmeier suffered a serious knee injury during a closed practice.

LSU coach Brian Kelly met with reporters to set the record straight on his quarterback’s health status.

L SU had a brief scare earlier this week when starting quarterback and Heisman hopeful Garrett Nussmeier was rumored to suffer an injury at practice. The school maintained that there was no major injury and on Friday coach Brian Kelly told the press that it was nothing more than tendinitis.
