(WSET) — As of 3:14 p.m. on Sunday, nearly 38,000 Virginian Appalachian Power customers are without power. AEP says they expect to see additional hazards and outages due to new flooding and high winds with the new winter weather headed this way. Wind gusts over 30 miles an hour create unsafe working conditions. This may delay power restoration.

Appalachian Power company gave an update on outages and the company’s response to outages in our region. As of 9 a.m. Sunday 27,400 are still without power including 19,500 customers in Virginia.
