Hyundai Motor Group sent a clear signal at CES 2026 in Las Vegas that it’s serious about robotics, unveiling both prototype and production-intent versions of its humanoid robot, Atlas. This wasn’t a flashy tech demo meant to juice headlines—it was a declaration of long-term industrial intent.

But if you shrink that robot down, give it the ambulatory capabilities of a human and bathe the whole thing in AI, Hyundai reckons it can replace the most unreliable element of the modern assembly line: the human laborer.
