With the program in danger of missing its second NCAA Tournament in three years, North Carolina coach Hubert Davis has made it clear he wants to see his team play with a sense of "emergency" -- a standard he doesn't believe they met in Monday's 85-65 loss to Clemson.

Davis' squad better play with a sense of desperation. If it doesn't, that will raise more questions about his job security.

Hubert Davis led North Carolina to the national championship in his first year as head coach. However, following a rough start to this season, many have questioned Davis’s coaching future.

It has been a rough stretch of games for the North Carolina Tar Heels, but head coach Hubert Davis feels his team may be trending in the right direction.

Davis also receives an annual expense allowance of $50,000 to be used for entertainment and “other appropriate purposes to advance the program,” $500,000 annually as part of North Carolina’s multimedia rights agreement with Learfield Communications and $250,000 per year from the school’s deal with Nike.

North Carolina should have a top-10 coach in the sport. It doesn't currently. UNC needs to have serious conversations about Hubert Davis' future.
