Pakistan slumped to a nine-wicket defeat in the first Twenty20 against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday after failing to defend a meagre score of 91.

Pakistan are bowled out for 91 - their lowest T20 total in New Zealand - in the series opener in Christchurch.

A new era for Pakistan white ball cricket got off to a rough start Sunday with a nine wicket loss to New Zealand in the first of five Twenty20 internationals. First time captain Salman Ali Agha led a new look team into the match which followed Pakistan's poor performance at home in the 50-overs Champions Trophy and began its buildup to the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Pacers Jacob Duffy's four-wicket haul and Kyle Jamieson's three-fer helped New Zealand bowl out Pakistan for 91 in series opener.
