Montgomery County Department of Transportation crews have begun clearing neighborhood roads after winter storm Fern dropped more than half a foot of snow, sleet and ice in parts of Montgomery County over the weekend.
Eight counties, including Cuyahoga, are under a Lake Effect Snow Warning through 7 p.m. Thursday as "heavy lake enhanced snow" moves into Northeast Ohio.
The weather service is already urging motorists to "consider delaying all travel" if possible, this weekend in Greater Akron.
TONIGHT Lake-effect snow, heavy at times, will last through the overnight, most persistent along and west of US-131. Several inches of accumulation are likely. Winds will increase toward daybreak, as low temperatures fall to the lower teens.
