A US Coast Guard cutter on Monday unloaded a record haul of illegal drugs in Florida that, if it had made it to the streets, could yield 23 million deadly doses of cocaine, the service said.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it seized a record 76,000 pounds of drugs this summer off Central and South America.

The U.S. Coast Guard offloaded a record 61,740 pounds of cocaine and 14,400 pounds of marijuana in what officials called the largest drug seizure in its history.
