While the ship was anchored, the pilot on board notified the Coast Guard that the captain was exhibiting signs of intoxication.

The captain was arrested and transported to the King County Jail, where charges were referred to the prosecutor for boating under the influence.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound were alerted by a Puget Sound Pilot who reported that the captain appeared intoxicated during a transit from an anchorage near Everett to the Port of Seattle. The pilot and first mate assumed control and navigated the ship to its berth without incident, officials said.
