Police said it responded to two fatal road traffic collisions which involved motorcycles in Devon.
The motorbike was being driven on the A57 Sheffield Parkway when it hit a kerb and crashed on Monday.
In a statement, his family said Douglas Burton's "lifelong passion" was motorcycling.
