Dragon Bravo and White Sage wildfires burn over 70,000 acres in northern Arizona
Two wildfires, one burning near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and the other farther north on the Kaibab Plateau, have scorched over 70,000 acres of northern Arizona wildland, according to state and federal fire officials.
The Dragon Bravo Fire added another 10,000 acres to its footprint as its swath of destruction surpassed 100,000 acres.
The White Sage Fire was burning about one and a half miles from White Sage, Arizona, and approximately 15 miles southeast of Fredonia in Coconino County, north of the Grand Canyon.
The White Sage Fire has burned over 51,000 acres and the Dragon Bravo Fire over 8,000 acres on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Both fires are 0% contained and were started by lightning strikes.
