Walgreens announced it was closing a dozen stores in San Francisco because of what it called "increased regulatory and reimbursement pressures" in the latest round of retail store closures in the city.

A dozen Walgreens in San Francisco will close in February, following some other pharmacy closures in the Bay Area and across the country.

Walgreens will reportedly close 12 stores in San Francisco next month. According to separate reports in the San Francisco Standard and the San Francisco Chronicle, the pharmacy chain will close the stores due to rising business costs.

Walgreens is closing 12 stores across San Francisco by the end of February, according to a company spokesperson.
