The Minnesota Twins and free agent first baseman Ty France agreed to a one-year contract on Tuesday, according to a person with knowledge of the deal, adding the 2022 All-Star to the mix at their most unsettled position.

Ty France, signed to a non-guaranteed deal, gives the Twins another righthanded hitting option at first base.

After an offseason of questions about what they would do at first base, the Twins have made a move to address the position externally, agreeing to a one-year contract with veteran Ty France, a source confirmed. The deal is pending a physical.
