An ESPN source told Newsweek that SportsCenter interviewed former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow before cutting to a commercial break as the moment of silence began. Once the broadcast resumed after the break, it was in the middle of the national anthem, and ESPN chose not to broadcast from that point as it would have been "awkward," the source said.
