The death toll in Pakistan due to monsoon rains crossed 200 on Sunday (July 20, 2025) as another 10 people have been killed, according to the country’s chief disaster control body.

Pakistan faces regular monsoon flooding from June to September, often resulting in deadly landslides, infrastructure damage and large-scale displacement, particularly in densely populated or poorly drained regions.

Relentless rain began on Wednesday, causing flooding in several cities and across vast rural stretches in the province of Punjab.
