Officials say rescuers have resumed efforts to reach German Olympic gold medalist Laura Dahlmeier, who was injured earlier this week while attempting to scale a peak in northern Pakistan.

Rescuers are hoping to find the double Olympic gold medallist on the 6,096-metre Laila Peak in the Karakoram Mountains.

German biathlete and double Olympic champion Laura Dahlmeier has been seriously injured after being struck by a rockfall while attempting to summit a 6,094-metre peak in northern Pakistan, a provincial government spokesperson and a Pakistani climbing federation said on Tuesday.
