Flight restrictions were imposed at five airports in Russia after Ukraine unleashed an attack reportedly with more than 200 drones and ballistic missiles. Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk region in western Russia, said Ukraine had launched a major missile attack but did not say which missiles had been used.

Moscow said on Tuesday that Ukraine had fired six U.S.-made ATACMS ballistic missiles, six UK-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles and at least 146 drones into Russia in an attack that it said would not go unanswered.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday accused the United States of attempting to disrupt the TurkStream gas pipeline to Europe with the aid of attacks by Ukrainian drones. The US was pushing its "Ukrainian clients" to put TurkStream out of action following what he sees as its sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines under the Baltic Sea in September 2022,

The Kremlin accused Ukraine on Monday of conducting “energy terrorism” and posing a danger to Europe’s energy security, after an attempted drone attack on part of a major gas pipeline that carries Russian supplies to Turkey.

Russia said on Monday it had downed nine Ukrainian drones that tried to attack part of the infrastructure of the TurkStream gas pipeline, through which Russian gas flows to Turkey and Europe, and called the attack an "act of energy terrorism".
