Erik Menendez’s lawyer is pleading with California Gov. Gavin Newsom to release him immediately after the convicted-killer-turned-Netflix-star was hit with a serious medical condition. Menendez’s health issue is apparently so serious that his lawyer wants him freed ahead of next month’s parole hearing,

A Los Angeles jury rejected claims that Geragos engaged in fraud but found that he helped Michael Avenatti try and extort Nike.

A jury found he “had actual knowledge that Avenatti was committing wrongdoing” and “provided knowlingly substantial assistance or encouragement to Avenatti in committing wrongdoing.”

The coach, Gary Franklin, had contended that Geragos and the now-disgraced and disbarred lawyer Michael Avenatti had bungled a potential $1.5-million settlement from Nike by pushing for a lucrative revenue stream for themselves.
