Minnesota Twins principal owner Joe Pohlad is keeping that job title, which came as a surprise to many on Wednesday.

Joe Pohlad, in an interview with the Minnesota Star Tribune, declined to reveal two groups of new minority partners. He said recent moves to trade a large group of players came on suddenly.

After exploring a variety of options over the past 10 months, the Pohlad family will remain the principal owner of the club and add new investors instead. Carl Pohlad, a banking magnate and the late grandfather of Joe Pohlad, purchased the Twins in 1984 for $44 million.
