Ahead of their matchup with the New York Knicks, the Mavericks announced their injury report, which included Davis who was ruled out on the second night of a back-to-back. This didn't come as much of a surprise, as Davis is expected to return for Thursday night’s game against the Orlando Magic.

On a game day like last Wednesday, that means Kidd is waking up to his iPhone alarm at 6:30 a.m. The grind of an NBA season doesn’t subside, and after arriving in Indianapolis the previous evening, the Mavs are scheduled to play the Pacers and a familiar face—Rick Carlisle, the one-time coach of Kidd and the Mavs.
