There have been several media reports stating that the Champions Trophy 2025 might be shifted out of Pakistan due to delay in renovation work at the stadiums in the country.

Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi are the three venues that have been chosen to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from February 19. January 25, 2025 is the deadline for the completion of works.

The visit aimed to ensure that all necessary facilities are in place ahead of the tournament's scheduled start.

Full squads list for the ICC Champions Trophy, which is being held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from 19 February to 9 March 2025. Squad yet to be named.

Pakistan last hosted a major international tournament in the 1996 World Cup, and has already been dogged by problems to their stadiums. The ICC is also wary of the situation, hoping not to repeat the logistical disappointments faced in the USA during last year’s T20 World Cup.

The tri-series, which will serve as a precursor to the ICC Champions Trophy, is scheduled to begin on February 19 in Karachi.

Pakistan was originally scheduled to host the entire tournament in three cities – Lahore, Karachi and Rawapindi. However, the country might end up missing out entirely on hosting its first global event since the 1996 World Cup.

The International Cricket Council is working towards finalising the practice facilities and the venues for the warm-up matches. The ICC delegation is keeping a close eye on the renovation work at the three venues in Pakistan.

Critical upgrades, including multi-story enclosures for dressing rooms and hospitality boxes, floodlight installations, seat arrangements, and fencing, are still incomplete
