As a heat wave hits multiple U.S. states, some areas are have been placed under extreme heat watches and warnings.

There's an "extreme" Level 4 heat warning for eight U.S. states on Sunday, June 22. The National Weather Service is warning eight U.S. states of extreme, dangerously high heat levels on Sunday. According to the Washington Post,

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for most of Southern New England except the Berkshires. Heat impacts are expected Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. Heat index values will be near 100 degrees Sunday and rise to around 105-110 degrees Monday and Tuesday. pic.twitter.com/3kVBa0xZuJ
