Officer David Rose died on Friday while responding to an active shooter near the campuses of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Emory University.

A vigil was held Tuesday to honor DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose, who died after a gunman opened fire from a CVS store across the street from the CDC.

A DeKalb County community is mourning the loss of Officer David Rose. His mother, Deveane Atkinson, described Rose as someone who had always been ready to help others.
