Carlos Baleba missed Brighton's third consecutive pre-season friendly match against Wolfsburg on Saturday amid transfer links to Manchester United. The Red Devils have shown interest in the highly-rated young midfielder and they reportedly even tried to offer players in exchange to secure a transfer.

Manchester United could face stiff competition from Man City for £104million-rated Carlos Baleba. United's big-spending summer continued this week with the £74m arrival of Benjamin Sesko, and reports claim the club hope to conclude a successful transfer window with the capture of Baleba.

Brighton's hierarchy reportedly believe Baleba has the potential to be as valuable as Moises Caicedo, whom they sold to Chelsea. Caicedo completed the transfer to Stamford Bridge, for a British record fee of £115million, in 2023.
