Murchison House Station was founded in 1858 by Charles von Bibra to provide meat and wheat to lead miners at Galena, beef to the growing Perth market and remount horses for the British army in India. Its rich history has been shaped by the hands of pioneering battlers, wealthy wool merchants and even an Indian prince. Today this 350 000 acre property is a family run venture endeavouring to continue the pastoral traditions and offer and insight for visitors into the outback life. Murchison House Station focuses on the production of beef cattle and range land goats as well as offering nature based camping and a range of tours. The property is open to the public from Easter until the end of October. During these months camping and 4WD access is available We close over the summer months to focus on mustering and station activity. Access can still be arranged through guided tours including canoe safaris, quad bike tours.
