Coastal local road (narrow roads) are quite near sea, and there are certain walk traps,,, but eg. wheelchair would be difficult to use. At low water times sand is easy to walk, I'll try to send one photo of that.

Omaha fortifications specifically can be seen on or around "Pointe du Hoc". There are bunkers throughout the countryside. Make sure you stop by one of the few museums when you are there. Allow at least half a day to a full day there in order to get a better understanding and appreciation of what took place 75 years ago. It it a very humbling experience for me to say the least.
Hi, I will be travelling to Normandy with my reenacting group for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. I'm wondering is it possible to get on to the beach at 06:30 or are the beaches closed for dignitaries that day ? We would only want to be there for about 30 minutes, hopefully long before any remembrance events begin.
